How do I sign up for Bullyproof?

Bullyproof® is our entire kids program. We break it down into age groups so kids are working with kids close to their age and size. We have Mat Munchkins (Ages 3-5), Little Champs (Ages 5-8), Jr Grapplers (Ages 8-13), and Black Belt Club (Invitation Only).

When will my child roll/spar?

All of our beginner classes are built to work on techniques, vocabulary, and understanding. For this reason, we do not allow beginner students to roll so that they can focus on technique and safety. Once they have attended enough classes (minimum of 125), work hard, and are a safe and helpful training partner, then they may be invited into the Black Belt Club class where they do roll.

My child came from a school where they roll/sparred already. Can they jump into Black Belt Club?

No. We will still honor their belt rank within our organization (or the closest equivalent), but they will still need to show they demonstrate proper technique and are a safe and helpful training partner. The timeline to advance may be shorter.

I’m a beginner adult, where do I sign up?

For beginners, we have our Combatives® program for men and women. Or we have Women Empowered® for women. Both programs are built around the most common things a student will see in a street fight and we discuss important concepts and principals that will help students master Gracie Jiu-Jitsu®. Please contact us for availability by calling/texting 801-824-8475 or email us at clinton@gjjnut.com

I’m not a beginner (blue belt or above), where do I sign up?

All students blue belt and above, must still attend all the Combatives® classes once before moving up to the Master Cycle®. This will give a solid foundation for learning once in the Master Cycle® classes. Please contact us for availability by calling/texting 801-824-8475 or email us at clinton@gjjnut.com

When do adults start rolling/sparring?

There is no rolling in the Combatives® and Women Empowered® programs. The focus of Combatives® and Women Empowered® classes is to perfect the details of the techniques in a safe environment where partners are cooperatively working to understand the positions and scenarios. Once a student has had all the Combatives® classes twice, they can begin attending Reflex Development classes. In Reflex Development, we work to connect the techniques and offer scripted scenarios that are similar to rolling. Once a student has graduated from the Combatives® program, they will begin attending Master Cycle® and will enjoy rolling.

Do we wear a gi to class or is it no-gi?

All our classes are gi classes, with the exception of some of our Master Cycle® classes. While a student is on their free trial, they are allowed to wear normal gym attire. After the free trial, we require that a student wear a Gracie University store gi. We carry many in stock and are happy to order for you if we don’t have them in stock.

Do you teach self-defense or competition Jiu Jitsu?

Our Combatives® and Women Empowered® are built for self-defense. Many schools approach Jiu Jitsu from a competition mindset first. We choose to start with a self-defense mindset. Once a student has graduated the Combatives® program and moves into the Master Cycle® they will begin to learn more sport Jiu Jitsu.

Do you have students sign up with a contract?

We do not do contracts. After the free trial when you sign up for classes, we require a 60-day notice of cancellation of membership. This helps us offer classes to new students.

Do you accept pre-paid months?

Yes, a student can pre-pay for classes, but we do not refund the remainder if a student chooses to cancel their membership before the tuition is used.
